Big Friendly Giants, Twits, marvellous-medicine-makers and chocolate factory proprietors with accompanying inquisitive children helped turn St Oswald’s Primary School in Addison Road into a living Roald Dahl library on Friday.

Alfie Twining from Year 6 said: “All the children and adults came dressed as their favourite character from the various books that Roald Dahl has written over the years.

“We all donated £1 each to Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity which supports poorly children and their families all over the UK.

“Everyone involved had a splendiferous, whizz-popping day in their costumes.”
