Children at Long Lawford Primary School ditched their uniforms for a day in memory of a former pupil.

The touch of pink day raised £350 and was arranged by teaching assistant Hannah Acteson in honour of her friend Christine Addison who recently lost her battle with cancer.

Hannah said: “I would like to say thank you to our headteacher Rob Morrissey and the school council for allowing us to have the non-uniform day to raise funds for Christine’s Crew which helps provide support and counselling for people who are going through cancer treatment and their families. It was lovely to see so many of the children turn up wearing pink in support.

Christine’s twin sister Rachel said: “Christine and I had many fond memories of our time at Long Lawford Primary and it’s wonderful they have helped in this way.”
