Organisers of the Rugby Reads Dickens relay, which took place during last year’s Festival of Culture, have handed over a cheque for £620 to Myton Hospice.

The funds will be used to help provide home care for the very ill – the Myton At Home service. During the two-week cultural festival Rugby Reads organised a sponsored reading relay to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Charles Dickens’ birth. Rex Pogson, one of the organisers, said: “Over 2,500 people read Dickens aloud during the festival which is fantastic. Rugby Reads is very grateful to all those who joined in to raise money for Myton.” Email info@ucltd.co.uk to find out about this year’s festival, which takes place this summer.
