A rallying call has gone out for people to take part in Rugby’s second Memory Walk and help raise money for The Alzheimer’s Society.
The event will take place at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Centre on Sunday, October 16, starting at 2pm.
It is being organised by Ann Powell and Philip Hanrahan who are hoping for a big turnout to support a cause that is close to so many people’s hearts.
Ann said: “Living with someone who has Alzheimer’s can be difficult, and it is something that affects me personally.
“As I live with a family member who has dementia I am fully aware how this can affect not only the person with dementia/Alzheimer’s but also those around them.
“That is why I personally hope this event will be a fantastic opportunity to not only raise money for the charity, but also increase awareness around a condition which unfortunately affects so many people.
“This is the second year the Memory Walk has taken place in Rugby, and we’re hoping to see as many people as possible get behind this event.”
Registration is free at www.eventbrite.com and look for Rugby Memory Walk. Sponsorship details are available on the site.
