Two men from Rugby have been charged following an incident near Asda in Chapel Street, Rugby on Saturday morning that left a 20-year-old man with serious stab wounds to the abdomen.

Tadas Grigas, 22, from Bridget Street, Rugby, was charged with wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm. He has been remanded in custody and will appear at Warwickshire Magistrates Court this morning (Wednesday).

Elonas Tomas Mikeliunas, 23, also from Bridget Street, Rugby, was charged with common assault and bailed to appear at Warwickshire Magistrates Court on March 10.

The injured man required hospital treatment following the incident, which occurred at around 4.55am outside the Asda supermarket. He has now been discharged from hospital.
