A Rugby boy sat in a bath of cold baked beans for six hours to raise money for his school trip to Africa.

Lewis Graham needs to raise £2,430 to fund his visit to Camp Tsavo, where he will help build schools and teach English to youngsters.

He raised £228.65 during the challenge at Tesco, in Leicester Road, and has a further £120 to collect.

Lewis said: “I hope I can make a difference to the young people I’ll be working with in Africa.”

The 14-year-old has raised more than £1,000 so far through various events including cake sales.

The project has been organised by Avon Valley School and each pupil is required to raise the travel costs.

Lewis would like to thank Tesco staff for their support.
