RUGBY Mayor Kathryn Lawrence joined in the celebrations for Black History Month.
Aromoas of Caribbean cooking and the sound of steel drums filled Rugby West Indian Club for the celebrations on Saturday last week.
The event was organised by Rugby West Indian Association and was part of the annual Black History Month events.
Cllr Lawrence said: “The month is a time to celebrate their history and freedom from slavery.
“The club event featured multi-cultural drummers, speakers, folksingers and a steel band as well as some fabulous West Indian food.”
Former Rugby Mayor Don Williams was compere for the afternoon’s programme of entertainment in St Peter’s Road.
