Two polo tournaments in Rugby will help raise money for Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance.

Rugby Polo Club will host the Town’s Trophy and Casa Loco Cup on August 20 and 21.

This event, following in the footsteps of some of its original members including HRH the Prince of Wales, HRH The King of Spain and The Duke of York, will be held on Rugby Polo Club’s original grounds.

Matches start at 10am on both Saturday and Sunday; games on ground one will be commentated.

There is no entry free on the gates but any donations will go to the air ambulance.

On the Sunday, there’s a licensed bar and a buffet style barbeque, serving a variety of meats from the Onley Grounds Farm Shop with a selection of freshly prepared salads from Onley Grounds’ Nose Bag Café.

Other stands will include Willoughby Park Polo Gear and ‘Have A Go At Polo’ on Splinter the wooden horse. There will be stands, bouncy castle, face-painting, pony rides and more.

It’s sponsored by La Casa Loco restaurant in Rugby, and Sworders, who as well as sponsoring the club also sponsor their own tournament which is this weekend - The Sworders’ Challenge.
