AFTER raising around £800 for Warwickshire’s air ambulance in the past year, Sainsbury’s Local in Hillmorton has adopted the 22nd Rugby Hillmorton Scout Group Hut appeal as its charity.

The Scouts are currently trying to raise £200,000 to rebuild their hut in the Kent, Hillmorton, in 2014 and are so far approaching £13,000.

A spokesman from Sainsbury’s said: “We kicked off with a counter collection and a ‘name the Easter chick’ competition over the easter period which raised £180. We are also holding a cake stall on bank holiday Monday and Tuesday over the jubilee weekend.”

The group provides Scouting activities for six to 15-year-olds in the Hillmorton and Clifton areas. For more information see 22ndrugbyscoutgroup.org.
