The ever popular Santa’s Grotto, organised by the Rotary Clubs of Rugby and supported by Rugby First Rangers, is on the move to the Clock Towers Shopping Centre this Christmas.
The Grotto, to be located in what used to be the Julian Graves store, will be open from 10am to 4pm, on Saturday 7 and 14 December, and then from Wednesday 18 through to Monday 23 December.
There will be a nominal charge to see this very special annual visitor with children receiving a present and all profits going to local charities. A perfect way to kick off the magical festive period and create special memories for your children and grandchildren.
Aftab Gaffar, Managing Director of Rugby First, said: “The grotto is a great way of increasing town centre footfall and each year the numbers of children and families visiting Santa continues to rise – great news for Santa and local businesses at what is an important time of year for them! The beautifully created grotto looks fantastic and children will not be disappointed. I would encourage people to come and visit Rugby this Christmas and support your local town rather than travel to the neighbouring bigger towns and cities.”
Aftab continued: “I would also like to remind shoppers that the John Barford Car Park is free after 10am on Saturday 7th, 14th and 21st December. This is just one initiative, in the run up to Christmas, designed by Rugby First in partnership with Rugby Borough Council, to encourage people to shop local and support their town centre.”
Santa said: “Rugby is a great place to visit and home to Rugby Football of course. The town is safe, friendly and welcoming and the Rangers always look after me - I also love their red uniforms! I’m really looking forward to seeing lots of families and children over the next few weeks in Rugby town centre – ho, ho, ho!”
