YOUNGSTERS at St Marie’s Catholic Primary School and Nursery in Rugby enjoyed a trip to the supermarket.

As part of a topic on shopping, reception class pupils went to Asda, from where they bought some vegetables to take back to school to make soup. They were given a tour of the supermarket and enjoyed a biscuit in the cafe.

Asda also presented them with a £50 cheque to spend in store to help replace items lost in an arson attack at the Dunchurch Road school earlier this year.

Teacher Maureen Russell said: “It was a lovely surprise. They made us feel very welcome and the children were a credit to the school.”
