TAKE a trip on a magic carpet ride and you won’t be disappointed when you see this pantomime classic.

Aladdin wants to make life better for his brother and mum but is tricked by the villainous Abanazar.

However, his life is changed when he finds a magic lamp and falls in love with the beautiful Princess Jasmine.

There is something incredibly likeable about the cast for the show, who bring boundless energy and enthusiasm to all of the parts.

Former Pop Idol runner-up Gareth Gates has an easy-going charm in the title role and his romance with Nicola Brazil’s Princess Jasmine is touching and heart-warming.

My personal favourite performance among the cast is the brilliant Paul Burling playing Aladdin’s brother Wishee Washee.

No pantomime would be complete without some corny jokes and there are plenty of those throughout.

There are contemporary and classic songs to entertain generations young and old - including a unique take on Queen’s I Want It All sitting alongside Katy Perry’s Firework.

So much hard work has gone into the elaborate sets, sumptuous costumes and brilliant lighting which helped to give the show a perfect tone and atmosphere.
