A GROUP of Rugby musicians have come together to form Sound Effects.

The new band, named after a classic album by The Jam, have been in rehearsals at the Alpha Sound Studio in Rugby since November, putting together a varied setlist of great songs from The Beatles, The Verve, Green Day and more.

Lead Singer Ian Tysall was the frontman of Rugby’s popular Smiths tribute band, How Soon Is Now.

The band also features two brothers - bass player Warren and guitarist Philip who come from Wigan, Simon on guitar/backing vocals and Geoff, who has played in various bands around Rugby and is a well respected drummer.

Sound Effects have secured a number of live dates in the area for 2012 with more to be added.

Warren said: “It’s overwhelming the amount of positive feedback we have been getting and can’t wait to perform the songs live.”

Sound Effects are now busy preparing for their first gig which will take place on Saturday, March 3 at the Bell Inn, Hillmorton.
