Specialist teams search in vain for Wolston pensioner George Summerfield

POLICE investigating the disappearance of 77-year-old George Summerfield from Wolston are continuing their search today.

So far specialist teams using dogs and off road bikes, along with local officers, have been involved in the search of the area but have found no trace of Mr Summerfield.

He was reported missing on Saturday, March 31, but has not been seen in the village since lunchtime on Thursday March 29.

He is described as white, 5ft 10ins tall, and of medium build. He has a bald head apart from long, lank grey/black hair down the sides.

He is thought to be wearing a dark anorak-type jacket and usually wears a green checked flat cap.

Local people, including representatives of Neighbourhood Watch, have been assisting in the search and posters have been distributed locally.

Anyone who sees Mr Summerfield is asked to call 999 immediately.
