A RUGBY schoolboy has kicked his way to the karate world cup finals.
Kenny Ashby, 11, will compete at the non-contact karate world cup for his age group at the NIA in July after success at the qualifiers in last month.
Kenny started learning karate when he went to a session with his older brother three years ago at Harris school and has stuck at it since.
Everyone at his school, Rokeby Primary, is impressed with Kenny’s achievements so far and are all hoping he comes back with the trophy.
Kenny said: “Winning at the world cup would make me really happy and I’d love to have the trophy on my mantelpiece.”
