Support is growing for a charity initiative in which men decorate their beards with flowers.

‘Rugbeards’ are having photos taken in iconic locations in the town ready for an exhibition at Garden Gate Flowers.

Actor Stephen Fry has sent a signed photograph to show his support, and Rugby MP Mark Pawsey said it was a ‘fantastic idea’.

It will raise money for Hope 4 and the Matt Hampson Foundation.

Simon Ainley, one of the organisers, who owns Garden Gate, said: “Stephen Fry showing his support for our aims is a terrific boost!

“There are now 15 high quality photographs of the #Rugbeards taken around our lovely Town by Jamie Gray, that are on display in Garden Gate flowers (44 Regent Street, Jubilee Gardens) with opportunities to picture yourself with your own flowery beard, buy all sorts of momentos or just donate in the collecting tins; showing your support for these brave and stylish young men who have flowered up their beards for charity.”
