POLICE in Rugby are appealing for witnesses after a van was seen pulling up on to the drive where a puppy was stolen in Cawston.

Charley, a 12-week old bulldog, was taken from her home in Creswell Place, Cawston during a burglary sometime between 1 and 5pm on Wednesday afternoon (October 24) last week.

The Tolin family who own Charley have been searching for her ever since and have offered a £1,000 reward for her safe return - upon the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.

Charley is microchipped.

Warwickshire Police have now said they are appealing for witnesses after a van was seen in the area on the same day.

A spokesman said: “A white van was seen to pull up on to the drive of the address during the afternoon and police would like to hear form anyone who saw the occupants of that vehicle. Of course if it was there for legitimate purposes we would like to hear from the driver.

“Police would also like to hear of anyone who has recently taken ownership of a British bulldog puppy, or anyone who has been offered one for sale.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact DC Richard Zarcone at Rugby Local Investigations on 01788 541111 x 3839 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
