Sup the real stuff on Rugby’s real ale tour

A good old-fashioned pub crawl has been organised by Rugby CAMRA to highlight the town’s real ale pubs today (Friday).

The group says it will also be a showcase to prove the growing claims that Rugby is the best Real Ale town in the Midlands if not the UK.

Steve Heighton, with other members from the local branch, will be acting as a tour guide on Friday around Rugby’s finest pubs.

Steve said: “Rugby is now arguably the best drinking town in UK. It has a proud reputation of quality pubs and with real ale sales on the up, it’s the best place to find the widest selection of quality beers anywhere. We as Rugbeians are very proud but we still feel that many people are missing out and perhaps haven’t been to the pub recently or tried real ale before and with this mini tour we hope to change that. Anyone is welcome to join the tour and not just beer drinkers.”

The tour will start at 8pm at the award-winning Seven Stars in Albert Square.
