Supermarket sweep up cash for charity

A GENEROUS donation from a town centre supermarket will help a charity to expand.

R.o.S.A in Rugby was chosen as the charity of the year by Sainsbury’s Local in Clifton Road between April last year until this month.

The store arranged a number of fundraising events throughout the year and collection tins were also situated next to the check-outs, all of which raised a total of £800 for R.o.S.A.

R.o.S.A offer confidential support for men, women and young people from 13 years who have suffered rape or sexual abuse.

Service manager Linda Lewis said: “Thanks to all the staff and Paul the manager at Sainsbury’s. They have been fantastic. We need to move premises in order to extend and we will be using the money to refurbish one of the new rooms.
