Keen swimmers and water babies enjoyed a fun-packed day at the launch of a specialist swim centre in Hillmorton.

Swim Works, built on the former Royal British Legion site, provides lessons for everyone from babies just eight weeks old to professional triathletes.

The day involved a tour of the facilities, games, prizes, swim freebies and the chance to ask the professional swim coaches questions.

Husband and wife Christian and Jo Wilson started the business alongside their successful swimming school Little Splashers, which teaches pre-school children to swim.

Jo said: “It was a fantastic day and people were very impressed with the facilities, they couldn’t believe how we had made use of the space.

“We’re just so pleased to be a part of the community.”

Parents can take babies as young as eight weeks to lessons to learn ‘water parenting techniques’ and build a close bond.

The centre also provides support for professional swimmers and triathletes, and uses the latest video technology to track and improve swimmers’ techniques.

Coaches also use audio analysis headsets to communicate with the swimmers underwater.
