A teenager has been injured following a collision near Avon Valley School on Newbold Road this morning (Monday).

Police said they were called to reports of an accident between a car and a pedestrian at 8.20am.

The teenage boy was taken to University Hospital Coventry by land ambulance and is thought to have possible spinal injuries.

Avon Valley School issued a statement about the incident on Twitter. They said: “An AVS student was involved in an accident en route to school. Emergency services have responded and parents have been informed.”
