A teenage cyclist was knocked out and suffered a head injury after colliding with a car on Rugby’s gyratory system.

The incident happened on Dunchurch Road at around 5.30pm last night (Tuesday October 6).

An ambulance and rapid response vehicle were called to the scene where the teenager was found unconscious.

He had suffered a head injury and was taken to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called to the scene at 5.36pm on Tuesday night. The collision involved a male cyclist, believed to be 19, and a car. The cyclist suffered a head injury and was taken to UHCW. An ambulance and community paramedic in a rapid response car attended the scene.”
