Teenager arrested after several vehicle incidents on Wednesday morning

A 17-year old male has been arrested on suspicion of vehicle interference following a number of incidents in Rugby in the early hours of Wednesday morning (21 November).

Police received reports of vehicle interference and shed breaks in a number of streets in Rugby between 2am – 3am on Wednesday morning. In Lower Hillmorton Road three people riding pedal cycles were disturbed breaking into a car. Other incidents were reported in The Arbours and in Timber Court where three males were again seen on bicycles.

In Benn Street a member of the public disturbed a male who had managed to get into a Volkswagen car and a second car was later found to have been broken into further along Benn Street. Police arrested a 17-year old male on suspicion of vehicle interference. Two others escaped on their pedal cycles. The arrested male remains in police custody at this time.

The Rugby Acquisitive Crime Team are investigating the incidents and would like to hear form anyone who saw three people riding pedal cycles in any of the road mentioned above, or elsewhere in rugby at between 2am – 3am on Wednesday morning.
