VILLAGERS have celebrated the 30th anniversary of its annual variety show.
Marton Night Out began in 1981 but last week it was turn of the village’s next generation of performers to take to the stage. The show opened with youngsters performing the Ugly Bug Ball in costumes provided by village parents.
Also taking to the stage were Marton’s Mums Aloud, urban dancer Ben Oliver, ‘Wild’ Bill McKechnie, Rod and Miriam Isaacs and guitarist Joe Heckles amongst others before Marton’s own Sidney and the Rough Diamonds took to the stage as the headline act.
Villager Margaret Taylor said: “The organising committee and everyone else involved did a wonderful job this year and the whole village thoroughly enjoyed it.
“Thank you to everyone for making our 30th anniversary so special.”
