A single mum of four has been left devastated after heartless thieves stole her children’s Christmas presents.
Louise Welton was shopping in Rugby town centre last Wednesday when her bag full of gifts was stolen.
The 29-year-old said: “You never think something like this will happen to you and then when it does it’s awful.
“The presents cost around £50 and I’d saved up to buy them for the kids.”
Louise, from Overslade, bought the gifts from The Entertainer toy shop and then went to B&M Bargains.
She said: “I put my bag down to look at something on the shelf in B&M and when I went to pick it up it wasn’t there. I couldn’t believe it.
“I asked the security guards in the shopping centre to check the CCTV footage and we could see two people walking out of the shop with my bag.
“The only people near me in the shop were a middle aged man and woman. If it was them then they should know better.”
Louise said her children, Tyler, ten, Ellie, seven, Mason, six, and charlie, two, would be devastated.
“All you want to do is give your children a nice Christmas,” she said.
“I probably won’t get the presents back, it seems unlikely now.
“I’m just going to have to save up and try again. It’s horrible,” she added.
A police spokesman said: “The victim was shopping and left her bag on the floor while looking at other items in the store. She then discovered the bag had been stolen.
“The incident happened at 10.20am on Wednesday November 12.
“We are currently waiting for better quality CCTV footage from the store.”
