Community groups in Rugby are being urged to apply for funding.
Not-for-profit environmental body WREN distributes grants worth between £2,000 and £75,000 to community projects across the UK on behalf of waste management company FCC Environment.
A total of £646,943 was awarded to 19 projects in Warwickshire last year, but that was ten per cent less than usual.
Joe Newby, Warwickshire grant manager, said: “We believe there are lots of people involved in eligible projects who either don’t expect this funding to be available in the current economic climate, or do realise it’s there but are nervous about applying for it. However, they don’t need to be concerned about submitting an application because I’m on hand to provide advice on how the application process works.”
