THREE giant pumpkins have been grown by talented young gardeners at Binley Woods Primary School.

The largest of the three giant fruits weighs a remarkable 34.5 kilos.

The pumpkins were grown by the school gardening club with the help of Hugh Sweeney from the Binley Woods Allotment Society.

They have since made pumpkin cakes with them and they’ve been used in various different lessons.

Janet Tilley, reception class teacher, said: “We’ve got a lot of pumpkin left that we don’t know what to do with yet. The children are very proud.”
