A FAMILY including a ‘traumatised’ child were forced to barricade themselves in a bedroom on a house in Brownsover after three men forced their way in.

The gang forced their way through the front door of a house in Millbeck just after midnight on Sunday, May 15.

Three people were in the house at the time, a man in his thirties, a woman in her 20s and a young child.

The offenders chased the man, women and child upstairs, where the victims barricaded themselves into a bedroom.

Shortly afterwards the man jumped from the bedroom window and left the property.

The offenders left the house, direction unknown.

The man was later treated for a minor injury to his foot at University Hospital, Coventry.

DC Simon Setchwell said: “This was very frightening for the occupants of the house. The child is still very traumatised. Thankfully, it is a very unusual crime for Warwickshire. If anyone saw any suspicious activity or an vehicle they didn’t expect to see, could you please call me at Warwickshire Police”.
