Three people taken to hospital after A426 crash in Rugby

A PREGNANT woman and two men were hurt in a head-on collision near the M6 in Rugby.

The crash happened on Thursday at 4.20pm on the A426, near the island at junction 1 of the M6.

Two fire crews from Rugby fire station were called to the accident where two men and a woman were trapped inside the vehicles.

Other emergency services, including ambulances and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance, also atended.

One driver, a man in his 30s, was airlifted to the University Hospital in Coventry with suspected abdominal and chest injuries.

The other driver, a man in his 40s, suffered a hip and chest injury. He had been trapped for up to 45 minutes.

His pregnant passenger was released quickly and both were driven to the hospital.
