Age UK Warwickshire is calling for tool donations for its new project, ‘Men in Sheds’.

The scheme aims to get older men to socialise in a workshop environment and put their skills to good use. It is based at the Claremont Centre, Claremont Road, Rugby.

Kathy Young, Claremont Centre co-ordinator, said: “I am very excited about this project as it gives gentlemen a chance to get together, use and share their skills on various projects as a group, as well as the chance to socialise with each other.”

Rugby MP Mark Pawsey is backing the project.

He said: “This is such a great initiative so I would urge anyone who is able to donate equipment to get in touch with Age UK Warwickshire.

“It can sometimes be difficult for older gentlemen to socialise, so this is a great way for them not only to do so but to share and learn new skills in a friendly and fun environment.”
