Tools needed for ‘Men in Sheds’ project in Rugby

Age UK Warwickshire is calling for tool donations for its new project, ‘Men in Sheds’.

The scheme aims to get older men to socialise in a workshop environment and put their skills to good use. It is based at the Claremont Centre, Claremont Road, Rugby.

Kathy Young, Claremont Centre co-ordinator, said: “I am very excited about this project as it gives gentlemen a chance to get together, use and share their skills on various projects as a group, as well as the chance to socialise with each other.”

Rugby MP Mark Pawsey is backing the project.

He said: “This is such a great initiative so I would urge anyone who is able to donate equipment to get in touch with Age UK Warwickshire.

“It can sometimes be difficult for older gentlemen to socialise, so this is a great way for them not only to do so but to share and learn new skills in a friendly and fun environment.”
