HIghways England reports long delays between Cathorpe and Daventry heading south
A vehicle fire has closed two lanes and is causing severe queues between junction 18 and 16 on the M1 in Northamptonshire.
Highways England reported that Northamptonshire Fire & Rescue are dealing with the incident on the southbound carrigeway just after noon on Thursday lunchtime (March 19).
Traffic cameras showed major queues building behind the scene and estimates put the tailbacks at around four miles.
