EIGHT arrests have been made by Warwickshire Police following the launch of Operation X with seven dawn raids across the county.

Priority Policing Areas in Rugby, Leamington Spa and Nuneaton were the targets for day one of Operation X yesterday (Monday), which is dedicated to protecting communities and catching criminals in areas where the most harm occurs.

The woman was arrested for possession of a class B drug with intent to supply whilst the teenager was arrested for possession of a class B drug. A cannabis factory was then discovered in Crackthorne Drive along with a lock knife, which is classed as an offensive weapon.

The other arrests during Operation X were made in Nuneaton and Leamington.

Deputy Chief Constable Neil Brunton said: “I am delighted with the outcome from today’s warrants and look forward to many more positive results over the course of Operation X.”
