University Hospital Coventry is the officially the best in the country at preventing and controlling infections.
University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire’s dedicated team has been named the Infection Prevention Society’s Team of the Year for UK and Ireland.
It was recognised for its “innovative approach to education and the reduction of healthcare associated infection such as C diff and MRSA.”
Its campaigns include “Ban The Bacteraemia” and “Houdini - Make that urinary catheter disappear”.
There has been one case of MRSA bacteraemia this year at the hospital
Chief nursing officer Mark Radford said: “It is clear to me that their enthusiasm and dedication is infectious.”
