Volunteers check that Leamington ethnography collection is all in order
After nine years of dedication, volunteer from the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies have completed a mammoth project of ‘condition checking’ and repacking the social history and ethnography collection at the Pump Room gallery in Leamington.
The collection includes around 930 objects - including jewellery, costume, weapons and ceremonial objects - originating from Africa, Asia, Oceania, America and Europe, as well as objects of local significance, most of which arrived in Leamington at the end of the 19th century.
