A Rugby man wanted by police after failing to appear at Warwick Crown Court last month has been arrested and sentenced.

Andrew John Orzechowski, 33, of Biart Place was arrested in Banbury on Tuesday night by Thames Valley Police officers after a warrant was issued for his arrest.

He appeared before Warwick Crown Court yesterday, Wednesday, and pleaded guilty to assault by beating and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place. He was sentenced to eight months in prison.

The assault by beating offence relates to an incident on September 27 in Rugby and the possession of an offensive weapon in a public place offence relates to an incident on September 27 in Oliver Street. The weapon was a knife.
