AS RIOTS continue in London and Birmingham, police in Warwickshire say they are ready to help if needed.
As 16,000 officers prepare to take to the streets in London tonight (Tuesday) Warwickshire Police say they will provide support if necessary.
A spokesman for Warwickshire Police said: “All forces in England and Wales rely on support from other police services from time to time under a mutual aid agreement and such support is being coordinated nationally.
“Warwickshire Police remains ready to provide such support as required but it is a matter for forces dealing with incidents to confirm levels of resources and support that they are receiving.”
This afternoon (Tuesday) Birmingham city centre was put under lock down. The Advertiser has been contacted by town residents who have work in the city who have been sent home by employers as 300 yobs went on the rampage.
