DUNCHURCH Pantomaniacs have raised hundreds of pounds to help brighten the life of one of their supporters.

The drama group rallied around to collect money for Sue Bridgman, who only last year trained for a marathon with Guy Watt.

He played Calamity Jane in a recent production.

Sue now needs a wheelchair but wants to continue taking part in sport and raising money for charity.

The group has presented Sue with a cheque for £1,500 which will go towards a lightweight wheelchair to help her rehabilitation and improve her quality of life.

Sue, who regularly sees the Pantomaniacs perform with her husband Dave, praised their generosity and thanked everyone.

She said she hopes to be back in training for marathon events in the future.
