Police are calling for witnesses to come forward after an 11-year-old girl was injured in an assault in Rugby on Wednesday, October 5.

A man reportedly pushed the girl into a bush near an alleyway on Princes Street as she walked to school at approximately 8.10am.

The man then verbally abused the girl before riding away on a black bicycle.

He is described as white, average build and about 40-years-old, with a bald head and was wearing a grey hooded top.

A Warwickshire police spokesperson said: “The girl received minor injuries to her shoulder as a result of the incident and police would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed this assault or seen a man matching the description in the area at the time.

“If you have any information please call police on 101, quoting incident number 288 of October 6.”
