Six veterans made the journey from the William Webb Ellis statue to the Fanzone as part of The Walk of Britain expedition in support of Walking with the Wounded.

The Walk of Britain sees six wounded veterans walk over 1,000 miles on a 72-day expedition across mainland UK.

They began on August 22 in Scotland and will finish in London on November 1.

All six individuals have either physical or cognitive injuries sustained in the line of duty.

The veterans made their way through Rugby on Tuesday October 13.

This week’s partner for The Walk of Britain is Morrisons, with Yorkshire-based YESSS Electrical being the title partner of the expedition.

Edward Parker, CEO and Co-founder of Walking With The Wounded said: “We are very grateful to our new partners Morrisons for sponsoring this week.

“We have been overwhelmed with the stunning support received from the thousands of people who have turned out to see us as we have passed through their communities and I am hoping that the midlands will be the best yet.”
