THE WRESTLING Association of Rugby will celebrate its tenth year in a less-than-festive style with its Christmas Bash.

Since 2001, WAR has been bringing wrestling action to Lawrence Sheriff School - and to mark the occasion, they are bringing together some of the very best wrestlers from around the country, and inviting some of the greats from the past 10 years for a WAR Reunion Party.

Amongst the special guests at the event are Father Christmas, who will be attending to give treats to the children at ringside.

The main event, which fans have been anticipating for almost a year, sees the arrogant WAR Champion, ‘The Bird of Prey’ Falcon, finally defend his title against former tag team partner and crowd favourite Blue Thunder.

Mr Thunder is excited to finally get his hands on Falcon, who is regarded as something of a rulebreaker. He said: “Falcon has been dodging me for a year, and finally, one-on-one and with the fans’ support, I know I can walk away as the prestigious WAR Champion.”

With five matches, featuring all the high-flying, hard-hitting action that has been the trademark of WAR for a decade, the promoters say Christmas Bash 2011 is likely to be one of the best yet.

There will be many other wrestlers appearing on the night such as WAR favourites Xander Cooper, The Judge, The Ocean Brothers and ‘B52’ Lance Corporal.

The show will be held at Lawrence Sheriff School in Clifton Road on Saturday December 3.

Tickets for the event are on sale now and can be reserved by calling 01788 561735 or by emailing tickets@waruk.co.uk. Entrance is £6 for adults and £5 for under-15s, and a family of two adults and two children is £18. Doors open at 6.30pm with the show starting at 7pm. For more information, visit www.waruk.co.uk.
