In the rounders league the Stiff Joints had a resounding victory over the Mad Batters.
In the Mad Batters defence they had a number of players absent due to holidays and in fact did well to raise a team having to draft in a number of new players.
The Stiff Joints took full advantage and played extremely well supporting and encouragi
ng all their players. All but two players scored, Lyn Phipps being the unluckiest being caught out in both innings with good catches. The team finishing with 22 rounders. The Mad Batters could only respond with 12.5 rounders but Lynda Miller had an excellent personal tally of 5 rounders. Players of the match were Emily Janczak (Stiff Joints) and Charlotte Wilson (Mad Batters)
Another team struggling were the Oddballs, also having to draft in a number of new players. They did force the 3 B's into a second innings with only half a rounder dividing them after one innings, but much improved hitting from the 3B's saw them forge ahead setting a target of 13 rounders. Unfortunately the Oddballs could not match this and ended with a total of 8.5. Players of the match were Clare Richmond (3B's) and Jules Mold (Oddballs)
The Bat Girls continue their disappointing season, languishing at the bottom of the second division. They did manage a good total of 8 rounders in the first innings but then failed to capitalise on this by only managing 4.5 in the second innings. Cool Runnings at the opposite end of the table with an unbeaten record scored freely with B J Carr doing most of the damage scoring 5. The team recording 15 total in one innings. Players of the match were Elaine Rowicki (Cool Runnings) and Gemma King (Bat Girls)
The final game was probably the most competitive, the Jollies having the upper hand after the first innings scoring 14.5 to the 9.5 scored by the Rabble.
The hitting was good and the Jollies outfield looked particularly good taking a number of very difficult catches.
The Jollies continued to score well in their second innings with Emily Billing being the most successful with 7.5 rounders. Their final tally being 25.
With the Rabble now on catch up, Yvonne Walker and Becci Clish led the way scoring 13.5 between them but other team members were being caught or stumped out in rapid succession and the momentum could not be maintained. The team finally finishing on 21.5. Players of the match were Jenny Twentyman (The Jollies) and Yvonne Walker (Rabble)
