Junior section expanding

Barby’s junior section has built upon its under 11 knockout cup success of last season. The club recognises the well-known fact the juniors are the future of the club and we have worked hard during the winter months, with indoor nets every weekend from the start of the year dedicated to juniors.

We have seven ECB qualified coaches and have more waiting to start courses this winter. The club supports this through our 3rd XI on Saturday’s which provides a step into adult cricket for our u15s. Along with the Sunday team that regularly contains a number of promising junior players.

The club can now offer competitive cricket for u11s, u13s and u15s in which teams compete in midweek fixtures.

The club also offers Kwik Cricket sessions for children under the age of 9, boys and girls are welcomed at all ages. Friday nights have never been so popular with other 40 children regularly participating in planned, enjoyable progressive sessions dependent on their age and ability.

If your child is aged between the ages of 6-15, interested in cricket and keen to further their knowledge and performance or simply to have fun please come and join us on Friday nights. They train between 6.15-7.45 at Longdown Lane, Barby, CV23 8TR or contact Craig Lester 07904 804674 for more details.

The club would also welcome any adult players wishing to play League cricket at a range of different levels. Details from Craig Lester above.
