Newbold CC seeking help of an artist to decorate clubhouse wall

After suffering recent vandalism, Newbold Cricket Club would like to turn their clubhouse into something for the whole village to be proud of.

They would be very grateful if any local artists can help with creating a mural to turn the pavilion into an attractive feature of the Parkfield Road ground, with the theme incorporating both Newbold and cricket.

The club will meet the cost of materials and hope the artist will enjoy the opportunity of designing and painting what is currently a ‘blank canvas’.

The club will be very grateful and the artist’s efforts will be recognised in a plaque on the side of the building.

The area for the project is about 20 feet wide and seven feet high and can be seen in the picture behind club captain Richard Meacham.

If you are interested in finding out more about the project please email danny@dslconsultingltd.co.uk.

Although their games earlier this month in memory of young cricketers Joe Spooner and Matt Davies had to be cancelled because of heavy rain, they managed to raise £150 for the families’ chosen charities.

They are hoping for better luck with the weather on Sunday (August 24) for their annual tip and run tournament for teams from the village.

A silent auction is also being held, with bids invited for two tickets to a Northampton Saints against London Irish rugby match and two cricket bats, signed by Warwickshire players in 2004 and 2006.
