Hillmorton, one of Rugby’s longest established football clubs, have achieved FA Club Charter Standard Award.

A lot of hard work by club officials, managers and coaches has taken place over the last year to ensure that its managers and coaches have achieved the required FA Level.

Club Chairman Ian Grimsley is delighted they have been awarded FA Club Charter Standard and would like to thank everyone involved in the running and playing side of Hillmorton FC for their hard work and dedication over the years.

U12s: Hillmorton 3 (sponsor autoenrolment) Balsall & Berkswell Hornets 4: With Hillmorton’s goalie breaking his thumb just before kick off, Oliver Fricker stepped into the breach for only his second game in goal. Scary, but he did excellently.

The match was fairly even first half, but a couple of lapses in concentration found them disappointingly 3-0 down. Their bad luck was unfortunately compounded by a missed penalty!

Will Morgan finally got one back, but again Balsall scored for 4-1.

Heads didn’t drop, the lads knew they were a better team, and second half Hillmorton fairly dominated, and pulled themselves back into the game, especially thanks to MOM Elsio Peixoto and Andrew Walker plus debutante Ty Florence who injected some fresh impetus.

Rishi Sard then added two more goals and Hillmorton were inches from equalising twice in the last minute and should have won.

U15s: Hillmorton (sponsored by Dairycrest Milk&more) 5 Admirals 0: Hillmorton came out on top in this local derby game but were made to battle all the way by Admirals. Shane Vince powered home a header following a corner. Haydon Illingworth-Joyce and Callum Bradshaw added further goals for Hillmorton to go in at the break with a comfortable 3-0 lead. MOM Ryan Anderson, making his debut, came on and his trickery and neat passing help create further chances.

Further strikes by Keelan Offer and skipper Matty Kent helped seal a well deserved three point’s. Special mention to defenders Dan, Corie, Shane, Harry and keeper Tom for their hard work and an excellent clean sheet. Well done to the whole team.
