They played the game in good spirit knowing that promotion to the A league was already secured.

Bedworth had two near misses in the first two minutes, which spurred the Lions on to step up a gear.

The first goal of the game came from Billy, shortly followed by Joe scoring directly from the corner kick. Joe added another goal just before half time from a lay-off from Milan.

In the second half Billy scored his second goal. With the Lions pushing forward to score more goals, this left them open at the back for Bedworth to sneak one past.

The Lions soon got their shape back and Ciaran scored their fifth goal. With seconds remaining Ethan scored a header to end 6-1 to the Lions. A great performance made by all 15 boys that attended.

Man of the match Kian for a good all round performance.

Cup final day started with a breakfast kindly laid on by the Cafe Vin Cinq, with the team also being kitted out in polo shirts by React Diamond Drilling.

Rugby play in the B Division and were playing Stratford who are one of the top teams in the A league.

Rugby went behind against the run of play, before McBean equalised. Both teams were having good spells of attacking football, but Stratford found the back of the net making it 2-1 at half time.

Rugby stepped up their performance in the second half with a wonder strike from Man of the Match Bates setting up a tense finish.

In the final minute McIntyre was set clear for the first time in the match and powered home to win Rugby the cup.

A great squad performance from all the players to achieve such a success. Rugby need four points from their remaining two games to achieve the double.
