Winning streak continues at Milton Keynes tournament

Rugby Town Girls under 15s continued their winning streak at the Milton Keynes tournament.

Rugby travelled the long distance to play against other top teams from leagues in other areas, to have fun in a day out and gain some more experience, coming up against other sides that have won or come runners-up in Southern leagues.

Rugby started well and topped the group from the first game to the last. In total they played seven league games, a semi-final and final and won the tournament without conceding a single goal.

In the final they beat a good AFC Kempston Girls team.

To go to a tournament, which always should be for a social get together for a team, and to concede no goals is a feat in itself.

And the fact they continued to go on and win after nine games is a testament to the girls who played and those that could not attend.

The Under 15s are a team built by commitment, listening to coaching, improving as a team and enjoying football as it should be played all season.

It is easy to forget, this is a new team formed in 2013 for the recent season and since then they have achieved:

Under 14s Parkland Tigers FC Tournament – Winners

Under 15s Rubery FC Tournament - Runners-up

U15s Leicester City & County Girls League Cup - Winners

U15s Leicester City & County Girls League - Runners-up

U15s Milton Keynes FC Tournament - Winners

Well done to all players of the team, a credit to the club, yourselves and families that have supported you all season.
