Victory over Prince of Wales at Butlin Road

The first cup final of the Daventry & District Vets League season was the Mark Lawrence Shield, with a big thank you to Rugby Town FC for the use of their facilities and co-operation throughout the day.

Valley Vets 1 Prince of Wales 0: The start was marked with a one-minute clap in memory of Mark and was well supported by a large crowd. The first half of the game saw a sketchy and slow start, the only real chance falling to Prince of Wales, but the Valley keeper made a great save for 0-0 at half time.

The second half didn’t improve much but ten minutes in, the deadlock was broken when O’Brian broke through to score for Valley.

The PoW started to chase the game but found Valley in no mood to let it slip.
