The funeral of Jimmy Knox – successful manager of both the original Rugby Town and VS Rugby across three decades – was held at St Andrew’s Parish Church on Friday.
The funeral and the wake that followed at the Butlin Road VS Bar were well attended – including many of the club’s ex-players and officials, as well as representatives from across the grass roots football community.
Knox’s brother Archie – previously assistant-manager at Manchester United, Everton and Glasgow Rangers, and currently employed in a similar role by Aberdeen – led the tributes to Jimmy on the day.
Jimmy’s family have requested that any donations should be made in memory of another sadly departed VS legend Ian Crawley, to the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
