Worcester City beat Rugby Town 3-1

Conference North side Worcester City ended Rugby’s hopes of a good cup run on Saturday.

After a goal-less first half, Worcester went 2-0 in the 47th and 63rd minutes before Jamie Towers pulled one back for the visitors with 15 minutes to go.

The home side finished things off in the 83rd, however, proving the stronger side despite’s Rugby’s best efforts.

Last year when the sides met in the competition, Rugby brought the higher league side back to Butlin Road for a reply, but unfortunately couldn’t pull off any shocks this time.
