U15s: Bolehall 2 Rugby Town 0: Rugby Town visited Bolehall for this Midland Premier League U15 Cup semi final. Bolehall had the better of the first quarter as Rugby looked a little nervous and finally took advantage to go 1-0 up through Laing.

Rugby battled back and created several chances which brought out good defending from Bolehall to maintain their lead. Bolehall then went further ahead when Ware converted a cross at the near post.

Rugby battled bravely in the second half but could not find a way through with Bolehall going through to the final on May 21.

U17s: Balsall & Berkswell 1 Rugby Town Juniors Youth 4: A comprehensive victory despite end of the season injuries and deflections, coming back to an honourable position in the league.

Town ground down the opposition with good passes and speed and the first goal was set up by the superlative Jordan Niner, cross from Andy Felton and tap in from Oliver Lamb. The second from Andy Felton followed a ball through the central defenders and calmly passed the keeper with a precision shot.

Jordan Niner followed a cross on the opposite side of the area and volleyed the ball in.

The second half saw RTJuniors start too relaxed and conceded a few chances including a goal with a shot from outside the penalty area. Soon after Town scored again with Andy Felton on a same situation as in the first half and missing the target in another three or four occasions.

Man of the Match: Jordan Niner.

Rugby Town Youth 2 Lye Town 2: In the last game of the season, the Youth team hosted the league champions elect. Town went about their business very efficiently and seemed in control, proving a match for the top team.

In the second half Town when Ryan Ansell caught a cracking half volley in the area and made no mistake in bursting the net 1-0, only for Lye to equalise from the penalty spot after a handball by Town.

James Farrow then restored Town’s lead with 15 minutes to go with a free kick catching the keeper out on the bounce off the hard surface.

Again Town looked in control until a communication error meant a centre back heading past his own oncoming keeper. A disappointing 2-2, but you make winning very difficult if you gift wrap two goals top of the table opposition. The Youth team kit is sponsored by SHAW – precision & performance in sheet metalwork
